“Gambling with our lives” - that’s the accusation from an Anthropic researcher that quit today. He’s acting on his warning, but will that actually change anything? I covered this recently, including Jakub Pachoki’s calls for voluntary slowdowns, but will it make a difference if the US and China see the same race as a matter of national security?
I’m taking the warning seriously, but I’m less clear on what will actually change.
